Dare to be a Gideon in this Generation
“Go in this might…. Have I not sent you?..... I will be with you…?” (Judges 6:14,16). The people of Israel were being tormented by the Midianites for over seven years. They were afraid, hiding themselves in the caves and mountains, their crops were being damaged and they were in great distress. However, in that time of crisis, the people of Israel cried out to the Lord for help. “Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me. ” (Psalms 50:15)
“Kerygma, Didache, Sterizo - The Pauline Model
"After preaching the Gospel (Good News) in Derbe and making many disciples, Paul and Barnabas returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch of Pisidia, where they strengthened the believers. They encouraged them to continue in the faith, reminding them that we must suffer many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God. Paul and Barnabas also appointed elders in every church. With prayer and fasting, they turned the elders over to the care of the Lord, in whom they had put their trust. ” (Acts 14:21-23)
For whom nothing is prepared..
“Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared.” (Nehemiah 8:10)
35 yrs ago, I read a tract titled “For whom nothing is prepared”. The Lord spoke to me through this verse as I was making a commitment to serve Him, and since then this phrase has been ringing in my ears. There are two groups of people in India and around the world who fall in this category: those who are deprived of spiritual food and those that are deprived of physical food.
